Choose Your Lodging
Step1
Reserve accommodations through the Homewood Mountain Resort Web site (see Resources below). You'll find the “Lodging” link under “Visitor Info.” You can also book lodging by calling (530) 525-2992.
Step2
Rent out a private home for larger groups. Vacation rentals in the Lake Tahoe area of California are popular, and you will find some located within a short distance from Homewood Mountain.
Step3
Book a “Ski and Stay Package” with participating area hotels. You will find a list and contact information on the Homewood Mountain Web site. Packages are moderately priced and include both room and lift ticket.
Arrange Transportation to Homewood Mountain
Step1
Fly into a Bay Area airport, such as Oakland, to start your trip to Homewood Mountain. You can then rent a car and drive along I-80 or U.S. Highway 50 to reach 89-South.
Step2
Book a bus trip from the San Francisco Bay Area to Homewood Mountain. Tour companies offer packages that include round-trip transportation, accommodations, breakfast service, transportation to the mountain from your hotel, as well as in-town shuttle service.
Plan Your Ski Trip to Homewood Mountain
Step1
Experience natural snow skiing at this resort. Only about 10 percent of the snow coverage is man-made.
Step2
Ski or snowboard on 100 runs maintained by Ski Homewood. You'll be skiing beside the locals at this popular resort. In fact, ski and snowboard training are often taught by those who have grown up on this mountain.
Step3
Board down all the runs at Homewood Mountain. All areas are open to snowboarders at this resort, and you can also book lessons if you want to try it out for the first time.
Step4
Bring your own equipment or rent some at the North Lodge of the resort. You can also book lessons and mountain guide treks at the Lodge.
Step5
Pay less to ski with the whole family at Homewood Mountain. Kids under 10 have free lift access when accompanied by an adult, and adults over 62 can get very inexpensive lift tickets on some days.
Step6
Enjoy a warm meal or a quick refreshment at Homewood Mountain's South Lodge. This facility is also available for parties and weddings.
Step7
Locate a current ski report by clicking on the “Snow Report” link under “Skiing.” You may also want to check out the “Groom Report.”
