How to Book Travel on Spirit Airlines

Spirit Airlines is an American carrier that provides national and chartered flights at low fares from several international hubs. Spirit Airlines also provides service to overseas destinations, with roughly a quarter of its flights traveling to the Caribbean, the Bahamas and Latin American destinations.

Book Your Travel on Spirit Airlines

1. Call [phone] or visit the Spirit Airlines Web site to book your air travel online (see Resources below). From the "Flights" tab on the company's homepage, select "Book a Flight" to begin.

2. Use the pull-down menus to specify "From" and "To" locations and your desired departure and return dates. Enter the number of passengers and then click the "Search" button.

3. Select your flight and then proceed to the next screen by clicking the "Continue" button. Your airfare should be reasonably priced.

4. Enter your contact information, a valid email address, the names of the passengers traveling with you and your payment information. Make sure all the information and numbers you've entered are correct before finalizing your online reservation.

5. Print and save the confirmation email you'll receive after you book your air travel. This message will contain your flight information as well as the "Record Locator" generated when you made your reservation. You will need the latter to change or cancel your reservation online. You can also use this data to print your boarding passes from the Spirit Airlines Web site.

Fly on Spirit Airlines

1. Log in to the Booking Manager online to check in for your flight by entering your last name and the Record Locator specified in your confirmation email. From here, you can choose your seats and print your boarding passes within 24 hours of your flight and up to an hour before departure.

2. Plan to arrive at the airport early to allow for processing. Note that passengers with pets, minors traveling alone and those with reservations including international travel must check-in at the airport ticket counter.

Tips & Warnings

• Note that some routes between cities may not yet be in service but are expected to be running in the future. To view current destinations and routes before searching for a flight, click on the "Route Maps" under the "Travel Tools" tab.

• Spirit Airlines permits booking reservations online up to 3 hours before your flight departs. For flights departing within 2 hours or less, you must call the Reservation Center.

• You may modify or cancel your reservations online up to 24 hours prior to your flight's departure.

• Book online to quickly compare the rates on different flights and choose the most affordable option.
