Tips & Warnings

  • You can't book flights directly with Colgan Air, but must instead go through Continental, United and US Airways.

  • Colgan was sold in January 2007 to Pinnacle Airlines for $20 million, meaning the "family owned and operated airline" tag on its Web site no longer holds true.

  • Colgan's fleet is made up of small Saab and Beech aircraft, which seat 34 and 19 passengers respectively. Small planes often experience greater turbulence than larger ones, so pack motion-sickness pills beforehand if you think you'll need them.

  • Smaller planes also have less room for carry-on luggage, not to mention less legroom, so check your bags.
