Book Your Spanair Flight

Step1
Book your Spanair flight by calling a U.S. phone number, (888) 545-5757. You can also reserve tickets online at the Spanair Web site (see Resources below). Expect domestic Spanish travel to be moderately priced and international travel to be moderate to expensive, depending on the distance.
Step2
Check out the "Deals" section of the Web site if you plan to fly out of Spain or the Canary Islands.
Step3
If you plan on traveling to multiple cities, the rail network is excellent throughout Europe and offers inexpensive, easy travel. You can fly to one destination and take the train to the others. You can also fly into a location that's central to all the places you'd like to visit.
Step4
Choose your class. Spanair offers Economy and Business Avant. Within Economy class, choose from Web-fares and economy fares. Within Business Avant class, choose from Flexible, Superflexible-Y and Superflexible-C fares.
Step5
Buy the option to cancel your economy flight within 24 hours. This option is available only for flights within Europe where the departure location or destination is in Spain.
Step6
Book an economy fare with the "Avant" option to sit in Business Avant class, minus a few business-class perks. This option is available on Spanish domestic routes only. Check-in with the Avant counter at the airport. Avant-option flights are always nonstop.
Step7
With Business Avant, you can choose your seat up to 45 minutes before departure. You will receive a free newspaper and expanded dining options. Business Avant fares have no change or refund penalties, with the exception of the Flexible fare, which does carry a refund penalty.
Step8
Choose the Superflexible-C fare if you want to sit next to an empty seat.

Travel to Spain and Beyond

Step1
Check in for your flight over the Web or at the airport.
Step2
Enjoy punctual flights or financial compensation. On Spanish domestic flights, Spanair has a punctuality agreement: If your plane closes its doors 15 minutes after the scheduled departure time, you get 25 percent off your next flight on the same travel route. If you're flying Business Avant class, you get a free ticket for the same travel route.

Tips & Warnings

  • Book your tickets over the Internet for the convenience of booking anytime, day or night.
  • If you type in your travel dates, remember that the European date format is day/month/year. You can also use the drop-down calendar.
  • Spanair has "Info" links on its Web site for more detailed information.
  • On Spanair's Web site, you'll find information about free telephone help. You can request that a Spanair representative call you, free of charge. You can also speak with a representative over your PC, provided you have a microphone and speakers.
  • Prices are quoted in euros, and online transactions must be completed with a credit card.
  • Don't be surprised to incur additional foreign transaction fees on a U.S. credit card.
