Book Travel on KLM

1. Visit the KLM Web site to book your airfare and make reservations (see Resources below). Expect midrange to expensive pricing, depending on your destination city.
2. Type your travel schedule into "Plan & Book Your Flights."
3. Study the menu bar at the top of the screen for more information. Choose "Travel Information" to learn the travel rules in your destination country. You can also discover how the airline can provide for special needs, such as traveling with young children or a disabled adult. Check baggage regulations, which health certificates are required to enter your destination and which documents you'll need for international travel.
4. Choose "Travel Tools" for reservations and airport check-in.
5. Select "Reservations Center" to book tickets online. After you enter your information, you will see the price of your ticket and a selection of flights for your departure and return. Select one of each and click "Recalculate Price."
6. Enter your passport information and select either a window or an aisle seat. Pay with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard, AirPlus/UATP or JCB (Japan Credit Bureau).

Tips & Warnings

• Book online to get an immediate printed record of the transaction, which is convenient for business-related reimbursements.
• If you travel often in Europe, consider membership in Flying Blue, a frequent-flyers club honored by a number of overseas airlines, including KLM.
• If you do not show up for check-in and boarding on time, you could lose your ticket without a refund. Pay attention to deadlines and start early.
• Taxes may raise the price of your ticket considerably.
