Get to Know Myanmar's Political Climate

    • 6

Travel with caution. The U.S. State Department advises that tourists in Myanmar avoid large, crowded areas because of recent bombings.

    • 7

Carry copies of your passport and visa at all times. The government of Myanmar inspects travel documents at airports, train stations and hotels.

    • 8

Be careful when expressing your political views. Myanmar's military dictatorship strongly discourages democracy or any other alternative forms of government.

Use Air Bagan to Tour Myanmar's Diverse Destinations

    • 9

See the city of Yangon. Formerly Rangoon, Yangon is the largest city in Myanmar and was the former capital before the change in government in 1992.

    • 10

Visit Bagan's ancient ruins. The city, previously named Pagan, is known for its ancient Buddhist temples. Bagan is less than 100 miles from Mandalay, Myanmar's second-largest city.
