Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Book Your Tickets on Japan Transocean Air

Step1
Book your Japan Transocean Air (JTA) tickets through its parent company, Japan Airlines. Call Japan Airlines at 011 (+81) 0570-025-071 from your cell phone or 011 (+81) 0120-25-5971 from a landline.
Step2
Book your ticket through the Japan Airlines Web site (see the Resources section below). Follow the online prompts and enter your credit card information once you have found an available flight that meets your needs.
Step3
Choose between traditional paper tickets and electronic tickets, or e-tickets. If you choose paper tickets, make sure Japan Airlines has enough time to mail them to you.

Explore Japan Transocean Air Destinations

Step1
Fly from the airline's hub at Okinawa to many destinations on mainland Japan. You can travel to Fukushima, Komatsu, Kobe or Okayama.
Step2
Travel to Matsuyama, Kochi, Fukuoka, or Kitakyusyu on the lower two islands. JTA does not currently fly to any cities on Sapporo.
Step3
Explore your options for JTA travel with the help of the JAL Route Map (see Resources below).

Choose a Departure City Served by Japan Transocean Air

Step1
Fly from Okinawa to most of the cities that Japan Transocean Air serves. The main airport of Okinawa, Naha Airport, acts as the hub for JTA.
Step2
Go from Ishigaki Airport, which serves as a secondary hub, to Okinawa or the Yaeyama Islands.
Step3
Take flights from either Naha or Ishigaki Airports to directly fly to the Haneda Airport in Tokyo or either one of the airports at Osaka.

Know the Travel Policies of Japan Transocean Air

Step1
Make sure your luggage is within the size restrictions. Larger items require additional fees.
Step2
Take only one piece of carry-on luggage onto the plane. It must be no heavier than 10 kilograms (15 pounds).
Step3
Review security restrictions before you travel to the airport. These restrictions vary from country to country and from day to day.

Tips & Warnings

  • 011 is the dialing prefix used for telephoning abroad from the United States. If you're calling from another country, check which international dialing prefix to use. All country codes are within parentheses and begin with a “+” sign.
