Instructions

Things You'll Need:

Book Your Tickets on Japan Air Commuter

  1. Step 1

Book Japan Air Commuter tickets through its parent company, Japan Airlines (JAL). Call JAL from a landline at 011 (+81) 0120-25-597 or from a cell phone at 011 (+81) 0570-025-071. You can also book tickets at the Japan Airlines Web site (see the Resources section below).

  2. Step 2

Use the JAL Route Map to plan your trip (see Resources below). Once you have selected your departure and arrival cities, travel dates and times and seat preferences, punch in your credit card information to complete your transaction.

  3. Step 3

Opt for an electronic ticket, or have your paper tickets mailed to you.

  4. Explore Possible Destination Flights

  5. Step 1

Take the Japan Air Commuter (JAC) flight from Kagoshima Airport to the islands of Okinoerabu or the neighboring cities of Amami-Oshima and Yoron.

  6. Step 2

Choose another JAL subsidiary for your flight to Tokyo, as JAC does not fly there directly.

  7. Choose a Departure City Served by Japan Air Commuter

  8. Step 1

Fly from Osaka International Airport to Izumo, Matsumoto or Matsuyama.

  9. Step 2

Go to the Fukuoka Airport to reach the destinations of Izumo, Kagoshima, Kochi, Takamatsu or Tokushima.

  10. Step 3

Fly out of Japan Air Commuter's primary base, Kagoshima Airport, or one of its many hubs, including Amami, Oshima, Osaka and Fukuoka Airports.

  11. Know the Travel Policies of Japan Air Commuter

  12. Step 1

Travel with just one carry-on bag that weighs less than 10 kilograms (15 pounds).

  13. Step 2

Check for luggage restrictions and size in advance. JAC's smaller planes may not permit larger items, like golf bags, skis or oversized musical instruments.

  14. Step 3

Review security regulations before leaving for the airport, since regulations vary from country to country and from day to day.

Tips & Warnings
  • 011 is the dialing prefix used for telephoning abroad from the United States. If you're calling from another country, check which international dialing prefix to use. All country codes are within parentheses and begin with a “+” sign.
  • Japan Airlines runs specials on many of its flights. Look for these before you pay top dollar.
