Difficulty: Moderately Easy

  • Phone
  • Computer with Internet access

Book Your Travel on All Nippon Airways

Step1
Book your Japanese flight by calling ANA at 011 (+81) 0120 029 709. Book your international ANA flight by calling 011 (+81) 0570 029 709. You can also book your tickets online at the ANA Web site (see Resources below).
Step2
Choose your date, time and flight. You can even reserve your seat and check for availability. If you prefer to pay for your ticket later, you can pay for it at the airport up to 20 minutes prior to the plane's departure time.
Step3
Pick up your tickets either at vending machines at the airport or at the counter. Automatic check-in machines will also register you at the airport if you are using ticketless service.

Choose Your City of Departure

Step1
Select a Japanese, Asian, American or European city out of which to fly. All Nippon flies to most airports in Japan.
Step2
Fly out of Japan from the hub cities of Tokyo or Osaka. All Nippon Airways travels to Europe (France, England and Germany), the United States (Chicago, Los Angeles, Honolulu, New York City, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco) and Guam, as well as many Asian destinations.
Step3
Travel to Japan from London, Frankfurt or Paris, as well as from major airports in China, Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City), Thailand (Bangkok), Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea (Seoul).

Explore Japan, Home of Air Nippon Airways

Step1
Watch the kabuki, an all-male cast of Japanese actors, as they perform dramas which are often reenactments of historical events. The best place to see this may be in Tokyo at the Kabukiza Theater.
Step2
Know that All Nippon Airways also owns a hotel chain called ANA. Special discounts may be available to you, so consider reserving accommodations in an ANA hotel after you book passage on an ANA plane.

Understand All Nippon Airways Travel Policies

Step1
Check your carry-on luggage to make sure it does not weigh more than 15 kg per person. You are allowed to bring one piece of luggage on board with you.
Step2
Know that odd-sized luggage such as golf bags, skis or large musical instruments may not be allowed on the smaller planes. You will need to carefully check to see what size aircraft you will be flying on and what restrictions may apply to it. See the ANA Web site for in-depth information.
Step3
Go back to the security regulations page of the ANA Web site to make sure there are no changes that affect you. Changes in policy can occur daily.

Tips & Warnings

  • Online booking is a great way to find unusual, Internet-only discounts.
  • There are also a number of subsidiary airlines owned or controlled by ANA. These include Air Nippon, Air Nippon Network (A-net), Air Next, Air Japan, Air Central and ANA Cargo. Don't be surprised if you have to check in at the ANA counter if you hold a ticket on one of these subsidiary airlines.
