Business Aviation, founded in 1998, offers scheduled flights out of the capital city of Kinshasa within the Democratic Republic of the Congo as well as chartered flights to many neighboring countries. Business Aviation maintains one of the largest fleets in central Africa. It's comprised of everything from the smaller turboprop transports to a nicely restored DC-3 to a luxurious Fokker 27 that was once owned by the Queen of Holland. Tips & Warnings

  • All phone numbers include the U.S. international prefix "011." When calling internationally outside the United States, substitute that "011" with "00."
  • All country codes are within parentheses and begin with a "+" sign.
  • Prepare for the inevitable security delays in the airports by making your itinerary as flexible as possible.
  • Drink bottled water when traveling in central African countries. Avoid ice cubes and bottles that have been already opened for you.
  • The Business Aviation airline doesn't currently offer a functional English-language Web site or phone number to book tickets through.
  • Explore all available travel options by booking online. That way, you won't be penned in by a travel agent or sales representative.
  • The neighborhoods surrounding the N'Djili Airport in Kinshasa are considered very dangerous because they're so close to the border, where military skirmishes often occur.
  • Schedule the appropriate vaccinations with your doctor at least one month before your trip to Africa.
