Book Your Train Tickets From Warsaw to Katowice

Step1
Book your train tickets by visiting the RailEurope Web site. See the Resources section below or call for a link. You can also call (888) 382-RAIL. Or if you prefer, you can purchase tickets at the Warsaw train station.
Step2
Determine whether you prefer standard, general seating or an assigned seat. General seating is reasonably priced, and specific reservations are not required, but will cost slightly more.
Step3
Decide between a single-issued ticket or a System Ticket, which allows for multiple journeys throughout Poland.
Step4
Be mindful of speeds when you book. Express trains are the fastest but are also the most expensive.
Step5
Choose your preferred departure time. Travel to Katowice should take roughly 180 minutes.

Leave for Katowice

Look at your ticket to identify your train number ("wagon") and the seat number ("miejsca").

Find your platform posted on the yellow posters. White posters only show arrival times.

  • If you have a first-class ticket, look for the red and white cars. Second-class seats are located in the green and white cars.
  • Conductors do not make arrival and departure announcements on Polish trains, so be mindful of when your stop is approaching. Trains generally only stay parked for a handful of minutes.
