Book Travel Tickets From Poland to Hungary

  1. Step 1

Book your train tickets by visiting the RailEurope Web site. See the Resources section below. You can also contact them by calling (888) 382-RAIL.

  2. Step 2

Select your class of service. Most Polish trains have at least two classes and longer trips offer sleepers. Most ticket options, including first-class are reasonably priced.

  3. Step 3

Research your ticket options at a site like Rail Europe. You may either buy a multi-country pass for a whole host of destination options, or purchase a single ticket.

  4. Step 4

Purchase a separate MAV ticket for travel within Hungary, should you require it. The fare is inexpensive, but the trains are significantly slower.

  5. Step 5

Know that amenities such as sleeping cars and couchettes must be purchased along with your ticket. Purchase a regular unreserved seat, then add on your sleeper option.

  6. Step 6

Enjoy discounts if you or your companions are under 26 years or over 60 years.

Store luggage in lockers at the station for prolonged layovers.

  11. Step 4

Have your ticket handy on the train to present it to the conductor when requested.
