Know Your Destination

Step1
Bring your camera. Idyllically situated in the Aegean Sea between the Argolic and Saronic Gulfs, Hydra Island is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Step2
Pack a swimsuit but leave the beach chair. Hydra Island is one of the only oceanfront communities with virtually no beaches. Invigorating dips into the Aegean Sea must be preceded by dives off the island rocks.
Step3
Leave your driver's license and car keys behind. With the exception of a few municipal vehicles, motor vehicles are not permitted on Hydra Island.

Tips for Your Trip

Step1
Book travel during the summer months as early as possible. Summer is considered high season on the Greek isles and ferry tickets tend to sell out quickly.
Step2
Pack lightly. There are no motorized vehicles allowed on the island. You will have to carry your heavy luggage wherever you decide to stay.
