Step1
Book moderately priced Eurail Rail Passes on the official Web site. See the Resources section below for a link.
Step2
Book Eurail Rail Passes over the phone by calling (877) RAIL PASS.
Step3
Book Eurail Rail Passes in person at Eurail offices in Berlin, Cologne, Dresden, Frankfurt and Frankfurt Airport, Hamburg, Hannover, Heidelberg, Lleipzig, Munich and Munich Airport and Stuttgart.
Step4
Choose a Eurail Global Pass for unlimited consecutive-day train travel in 18 European countries--from 15 days up to three months.
Step5
Select a Flexipass, valid for either 10 or 15 travel days within a two-month period, for extra benefits that include free or reduced transportation on private Dutch railroads, ferry crossings, buses, hotels, museums or car and bicycle rentals.
Step6
Pick the type of train trip you want to take. A high-speed special train travels 187.5 miles (300 km) per hour if you want to get there fast.
Step7
Take a regular train to watch the lush scenery from the comfort of a first- or second-class seat or couchette (sleeper).

Book German Railways train tickets over the phone by calling 011 (+49) 1805 996633.

Choose a route that best fits your schedule. Keep in mind that you will likely have to change trains several times during your trip and that your train choices may include InterCityExpress (ICE), RegionalExpress (RE) and InterCity/EuroCity (IC/EC) options.

Tips & Warnings

  • Purchase your tickets early. Eurail offers incentives for advance-purchase tickets online.
  • You can have your tickets or rail pass mailed to you free of charge if you book them at least five days ahead. All tickets come with free timetables and travel guides.
  • Buying train tickets or rail passes over the Internet is often cheaper than buying in person or by phone.
  • All phone numbers include the United States international prefix "011." When calling internationally outside the United States, substitute that "011" with "00."
  • All country codes are within parentheses and begin with a "+" sign.
  • You can book up to 60 days in advance on train travel throughout Europe.
  • Be aware that European train time tables change every June and December.
