Choose Luxury Accommodations
Step1
Find luxury accommodations in the downtown area. Most of the hotels are right on the edge of the Mediterranean and offer amenities such as spas, Jacuzzis and gyms. Lovely views of the sea from the hotel rooms are almost standard, though they often come with an expensive price.
Step2
Get a great view and a great location when you stay at the Corinthia Bab Africa Hotel in the business district. You can book these luxury accommodations online at the hotel Web site. See the Resources below for a link. You can also call 011 (+218) 213351990.
Step3
Consider going a little further away from the downtown area for your accommodations. Smaller hotels a few minutes away offer three- and four-star accommodations for budget prices.
Step4
Look for luxury accommodations near Medina, the old city, if you want to experience the past. You can visit the Jamahiriya Museum in the Red Castle. The site features many artifacts from Tunisia's history of Roman and Greek occupation.
Step5
Consider a stay at local guest house. Be sure to review photos and reviews before making your reservation. Many guest houses in Tripoli are located in run-down apartment buildings and offer few amenities. Expect budget prices.
Step6
Select luxury hotels with a restaurant on site. Start your meal with some baba ghanoush, polish off a shawarma sandwich and finish with a sweet serving of baklava.
Step7
Book your luxury accommodations far in advance if you plan on visiting Tripoli during the International Tripoli Fair. This is an opportunity to see agricultural, industrial and commercial exhibits. The fair is held in April and accommodations are quite expensive during this time.
Prepare for Your Hotel Stay
Step1
Check visa requirements with your local Libyan embassy. Citizens of most countries will need a visa, though members of a few Arab and African countries can enter Libya without one. The cost of the visa will depend on the duration of your visit.
Step2
Drive into Libya. Note that only citizens of Libya and Chad can cross the Chad-Libya border and only citizens of Libya and Sudan can cross the Libya-Sudan border. Israeli citizens are not allowed into Libya.
Step3
Fly directly into Tripoli International Airport. You can arrive from Europe, some Arab countries and Asia.
Step4
Keep the temperature in mind when packing for your trip. Tripoli has hot, sunny days and chilly nights.
