Nauru, an island in the South Pacific near the equator, experiences inclement weather during the monsoon season, between November and February. Nauru is not traditionally a tourist destination, so accordingly there are only a couple hotels on the island and luxury is a bit hard to come by. But if you must travel, read on to learn how to find luxury accommodations in Nauru.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Find Luxury Accommodations

Step1
Stay at the moderately priced Menen Hotel, one of only two accommodations options in Nauru. Amenities include a swimming pool, hot tub, tennis courts, snorkeling and air conditioning. Call +674 (0) 4 443 300 to book your reservations.
Step2
Enjoy a dinner on the beach at the luxury restaurant housed in the Menen Hotel. This is one of the only dining establishments in Nauru.
Step3
Relax with a drink in hand in Nauru's sole drinking establishment, located at the Menen Hotel.
Step4
Plan a conference in Nauru and stay in Meneng. The Menen Hotel has executive accommodations including office technology for business travelers' convenience.

Find Luxury Accommodations in Aiwo

Step1
Visit the OD-N-Aiwo hotel, your other option for accommodations in Nauru. From the third and fourth story bedrooms of the hotel, you'll get a view of the ocean. Rooms are very inexpensive. The hotel's phone number is 011 (+674) 4443701.
Step2
Plan a night in Aiwo to enjoy luxury accommodations relative to the island and the conveniences of being in an urban environment.
Step3
Enjoy basic amenities such as air-conditioning, television and a small fridge. Ask for a room with a balcony if possible. You may be able to see some lovely sunsets.
Step4
Stay in Aiwo for the surrounding environment, not necessarily for the hotel's accommodations. There are no restaurants or pools for entertainment.

Get to Know Nauru

Step1
Use Nauru's official currency of the Australian dollar to purchase goods and services.
Step2
Exchange your currency at any bank. The hotels may also exchange currency during specific hours.
Step3
Communicate in Nauruan or English, as both are spoken in Nauru.
Step4
Fly into Nauru International Airport on one of the two airlines that fly to the island. Plan ahead, as they make only a few trips per week.
Step5
Coordinate with the shuttle from the hotel to pick you up from the airport, as it is one of the few modes of transportation on the island.
Step6
Rent a car to drive across the island. Inquire about rental agencies at the front desk of your hotel.
