Step4
Look for moderately priced accommodations in one of the nearby towns, such as Kalampaka or Kastraki, which are closest to the monasteries.

Find Transportation

Step1
Buy a ticket for the morning train from Athens into Meteora, which gives visitors a full-day of sightseeing and a chance to enjoy the scenery during the ride.

Walk to the monasteries and save money on transportation if staying in Kastraki, as it is reasonably close.
