1. To be honest, there are some who look utterly hideous in a violently red lip. Snap some shots of you donning your best red, and if you hate the way you look, red isn't for you. If you want color, try a bright berry color in a gloss. I'm totally in your same boat, if it's any consolation.
2. Select the "Lipstick of your dreams!" while following the steps from my article of the same name.
3. When wearing something so bold and attention-getting, it's smart not to emphasize other features. All your eyes will need is a hefty swiping of mascara. Ok, MAYBE a little pop of shimmer in your eye-corners if you must.
4. Continue the non-competitive look by wearing a simple outfit and straight or up-doed locks. Your red lip is the star here. Let it shine.
