How to Make a Mojito

The Mojito is a Cuban drink made with limes and mint to mask the taste of its main ingredient, rum. This drink was a favorite of American novelist Ernest Hemingway. Read on to learn how to make a refreshing Mojito. Does this Spark an idea?

  • 3 oz. rum
  • 3 mint leaves
  • Club soda
  • Dash of lime juice
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • Ice

Instructions

      Muddle two mint leaves, dash of lime juice and sugar in the bottom of a tall glass.

      Fill the glass with ice.

    • 3

      Pour in rum and a dash of lime juice.

      Top the glass with club soda.

    • 5

      Garnish with the last mint leaf.

    If you want a really tasty treat try adding about 4 leaves of lemon balm to that recipe. it gives it a light lemon flavor that complements the lime well, but without being overpowering. great article!

    You should really make a simple syrup rather than just pour sugar straight into the drink. If you put sugar into a chilled glass, you'll never get it to dissolve.
