"It was a dark and stormy night," wrote Edward George Bulwer-Lytton in his 19th century novel, "Paul Clifford." And if you too want to write the great American novel or sail the high seas with the British, here is how to make a Dark and Stormy.

Things You’ll Need:

• 2 oz. dark rum
• 1 bottle of ginger beer
• Lime wedge
• Ice
• 2 oz. dark rum
• Lime wedge
• Ice
• 1 bottle of ginger beer

1. Fill a tall glass with ice.
2. Pour in the dark rum.
3. Top the drink with ginger beer.
4. Garnish with lime wedge.

• You can also garnish this drink with an orange slice or lemon wheel.
