How to Make a Non-Alcoholic Hot Buttered Rum

Make a non-alcoholic hot buttered rum and warm up your senses on a dreary winter's day. The grown up version of this drink was originally used as a children's tonic many years ago, and this non-alcoholic re-creation can easily fill the bill again. Does this Spark an idea?

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 scoops of butter rum ice cream
  • 1 teaspoon rum flavoring
  • Whipped cream
  • Ground nutmeg
  • Brown sugar

  • Freezer-safe container
  • Butter rum ice cream
  • Coffee cup
  • Powdered sugar
  • Rum flavoring

Instructions

      Mix the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Blend in powdered sugar and cinnamon.

      Stir in the scoops of butter rum ice cream, and then add the rum flavoring.

      Place the mix in a freezer-safe container and store in the freezer until needed.

      Make a non-alcoholic hot buttered rum by stirring 3 to 4 tablespoons of this mixture into a coffee mug full of near-boiling water.
