Things You'll Need:
- Love of baseball
-
Step 1
Study up on past World Series appearances. The 1969 Miracle Mets and the bad boys of the 86 team hold the best memories (because they won).
-
Step 2
Go to the main Mets website: Mets.com has everything you need to know present and past. Check out the messageboards to learn about trade rumors and read people complaining about players’ performance.
-
Step 3
Read Mets blogs. The best baseball blog arguably belongs to the Mets: Metsblog.com. Daily, year-round commentary—game by game analysis, trade rumors, stats, and interviews. Some other blogs are Amazin Avenue, Always Amazin, and Faith and Fear in Flushing.
-
Step 4
Go to games. Should go without saying. Get yourself some season tickets for the cheap seats if you can’t afford a luxury box.
-
Step 5
Sign up for MLB’s Gameday Audio or MLB.TV. You’ll be able to see or hear every game on your computer desktop. Great for Mets fans who don’t live in New York.
-
Step 6
Sign up for SportsNet New York (SNY), which airs Mets games on cable—all home games in HD.

on 5/30/2007 If you live in a place like LA where it's very hard to find a Mets cap (Dodgers rival or just doesn't sell well), make sure you find one online or pick one up on your next trip to NY. All we see are Yankees caps and the majority of people wearing them are not even fans. You wear a Mets cap, there's no mistaking you're a true fan.
Good article.
