Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  1. Step 1

Research online for help in comparing flip phones. Many Web sites offer side by side comparisons of features, pricing and appearance. Consider the different cell phone companies and who you would wish to buy service from.

  2. Step 2

Look up the phone number to the nearest authorized cell phone retailers in your area. Look up their address and find the most convenient location.

  3. Step 3

Visit the nearest retailer for the cell phone company you have chosen. Ask the technicians in the store to help you compare the various flip phones they have to offer.

  4. Step 4

Keep a list of a few flip phones that stood out. Go home and search for customer reviews or consumer guidelines on those specific phones. There should be very helpful reviews that will help you compare and contrast the phones.

  5. Step 5

Ask around in your community, through your friends, family, or co-workers, about their own flip phones. Ask on a first-hand basis what they like and dislike about their own flip phone and their service provider.

Tips & Warnings
  • Compare the size of flip phones to that of a regular phone. Flip phones can sometimes be skinnier, but longer in length.
  • Keep in mind what exactly you want to be using your flip phone for. This will help you narrow down what types of flip phones you need to compare.
  • Beware of biased reviews from certain Web sites. Make sure your reference site is trusted.
  • Don't overlook features you won't need. Every feature that you can add to your phone comes with a price.
