Gift giving can be easy or can be difficult when buying Hanukkah gifts for your boyfriend or girlfriend. Try not to let the process be difficult and put a damper on your holiday spirit. Follow these suggestions to buy a boyfriend/girlfriend gift for Hanukkah.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Discuss with your significant other which day of Hanukkah you will be exchanging gifts or if you are going to participate in all eight nights. When you want to do all eight nights, then consider eight smaller gifts.

  2. Step 2

Decide on a budget. When you have decided to do gifts all eight nights, it will be easy to lose track of the money that you have spent. Set an amount that you would like to spend.

  3. Step 3

Ask your significant other for suggestions. Sometimes it is easier to ask, then to guess what they might like. You might find out something about them that you did not know before.

  4. Step 4

Make a shopping list. This will make shopping a lot easier and you will be more organized. As you find a gift, cross it off of your list.

  5. Step 5

Set aside a day or two to devote to shopping. Do not wait until the last minute, this only adds to the stress of the holidays.

  6. Step 6

Purchase wrapping paper and all other wrapping supplies. Wrap the presents. When you have purchased eight gifts, number them to correspond to the night that they are to be presented.

  7. Step 7

Exchange gifts. Have a fun time. Make mental notes for gifts next year.

Tips & Warnings
  • Look for something that you know they would really like, do not look for a generic boy or girl gift.
  • Find personalized gifts that will mean more to the recipient.
  • Do not forget the real reason that we celebrate Hanukkah. Make sure to celebrate the meaning, and not just the gift-giving aspect.
  • Do not go over your budget. This will only add to stress after the holidays. Make a list and stick to it. If you have to, put your gift-giving money in a separate envelope and only spend money out of there. When it is gone, you are done shopping.

on 7/28/2007 A suggestion for gifts.

Many of us don't want any more picture frames, vases, etc. Another way to show your love is doing something meaningful in a friend's name.

A new nonprofit website, www.ChangingThePresent.org makes it more rewarding and easier than ever. You can choose exactly what you want to accomplish: preserve an acre of the rainforest, provide books for children, fund an hour of cancer research, or sponsor cataract surgery to make a blind person see. The site already offers thousands of tangible donation opportunities from hundreds of leading nonprofits, so you’re sure to find something that moves you.

Wish lists and registries let us share our passions with others and ensure the perfect gift. Beautiful, personalized greeting cards include a photo and description of the gift you gave.
