How to Defeat the Gun Store Psychopath in Dead Rising

This is one of the harder Psychopath fights, even if you're fully leveled and have the mini-chainsaws. The little chainsaw terrors make the fight easier, but it is still a challenge, since the owner of the store has a shotgun and a bad heart. Feeling up to braving the gunfire?

Instructions

1. Get a mini-chainsaw or a sniper rifle. Either one will work, but the sniper rifle will work better for this fight. You can get 3 off the Sniper Family. See our article on defeating them for full details.

2. Head to North Plaza and look for the small side tunnel that looks like it leads to a bathroom. It will be on the far northern wall, about mid way between Seon's and the hardware store. Follow it to the end.

3. Open one side of the doors and watch the video.

4. Run back out if you've got a sniper rifle. If you're outside the doors, you're safe.

5. Hide behind one of the doors and use the sniper rifle on Cletus' head. Couldn't be easier since he never leaves his counter. Just remember to stay back far enough that his shotgun won't reach out and touch you.

6. Charge the desk if you've got the mini-chainsaw and are going the berserker route. He'll shoot you, but shrug it off and keep charging!

7. Try and stay in front of his counter. If you get behind it and try to whack at him, he'll grab you and throw you back over the counter, then continue throwing lead in your direction.

8. Help yourself to his stock once he's gone. The box in front of the counter always has a health restorer in it (wine, coffee creamer, OJ).
