How to Defeat Carlito the Second Time in Dead Rising

As if fighting Carlito once wasn't bad enough, there's a second time. For this fight, he's got you pinned down in the Entrance Plaza. Brad offers little assistance, so it's pretty much up to you. Watch out! Carlito has some serious firepower in his corner and isn't hesitating to use it!

Instructions

    • 1

Get the mini-chainsaws before you go, if at all possible. See our articles on defeating Adam the Clown and Properly Utilizing the Mini-Chainsaws for full details. Closing into mêlée range with Carlito and eliminating him quickly are paramount in this fight, otherwise his cannon will spell serious trouble for you! Grab the katana from the awning outside Columbian Roastmasters in Paradise Plaza if you are unable to get the mini-chainsaws. It's not perfect, but it's better than the hunting knife.

    • 2

Bring 3 bottles of OJ or wine.

    • 3

Head to the Entrance Plaza. You'll probably get the call about this on your way out of the Warehouse. The gate to the Entrance Plaza from Paradise will be open now, and Otis will inform you of such. Go through there after you've got your gear.

      Watch the cinematic.

    • 5

Head up the stairs behind you as soon as you can move. Run around to either the left or right, but stay out of sight and behind a wall.

    • 6

Shift the camera so you can see around the corner.

    • 7

Wait until Carlito moves closer so he can get a shot at you. This may or may not work, since he may decide to shoot at Brad instead. If Carlito doesn't move, go for broke and charge him with your most powerful mêlée weapon. If he does move, wait for him and then tackle him.

Keep the pressure on! Try not to let Carlito get too far away from you. If he does, he'll turn his massive sniper rifle on you and give you another whack. Even at max level, this will take 1-3 bars of health off you and stun you for a few seconds. Be careful! Carlito may take a second shot at you right after you get up, and he doesn't miss that often.

Tips & Warnings

  • Even if you have a sniper rifle, do not attempt to out-shoot Carlito! His rifle is much more powerful and unless you are an expert shot, you probably won't get a shot off before he puts a bullet through your scope and sends you reeling!

This article was not very helpful at all. I completed this level multiple times using different tactics each time. I find it much easier to use a sniper rifle from behind a display case in the cosmetics shop at the top of the stairs. I did this and lost no health. I also chased after Carlito with just a katana and after 3-4 hits he was finished. Although I did lose several bars of health, I finished this section in less than 5 minutes.
