Whether you're planning an anniversary celebration for yourself, another family member or a friend, timing is everything. Follow these steps for a well-organized party.

    Select a date and time for your celebration. Pick an alternate date as well, just in case.

  2. Step 2

    Start calling around to places where you'd like to hold the celebration and find out if the date you’ve chosen is available.

    Call the key people who are celebrating to be sure the date works for them.

  4. Step 4

    Once you have a place booked, begin to call or send out invitations.

  5. Step 5

    Call the event site a week before the celebration to confirm your reservations.

  6. Step 6

    Keep a list of people who R.S.V.P.

  7. Step 7

    Arrive in advance to help set up decorations, if necessary.
