There are lots of ways you can spice up foreplay and heighten the sexual tension and pleasure for both partners. One is to use lighting to create an atmosphere of romance, sensuality and intimacy.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Candles
  • Frosted Bulbs
  1. Step 1

Use candles—lots of them! A multitude of candles in all shapes and sizes illuminates the room gently and creates spaces of light and shadow that make the skin glow and heighten the feeling of intimacy.

  2. Step 2

Use soft lighting such as frosted bulbs. These give plenty of light to see by, but don’t cause the glare that regular bulbs do.

  3. Step 3

Dim the lights to create a mysterious mood. Have the lights turned low but not all the way off so that you can see each other, but not clearly.

  4. Step 4

Or turn the lights off! You and your partner can tease and tantalize each other by touching in unexpected ways and places—and without the use of sight, you’ll be able to concentrate more on your other senses.

Tips & Warnings
  • For an extra special effect, choose candles that are scented with aromas such as sandalwood.
  • If you’re using candles, be careful not to put them in places where they might get tipped over during sex.
