Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access

    Go with Silver

  1. Step 1

Buy something made from genuine sterling silver—even a very small amount—for your spouse or the couple. Silver is the traditional gift given to celebrate the silver anniversary of 25 years.

  2. Step 2

Consider buying a silver photo frame, silver mirror frame, silver vase, silver key ring, silver paperweight, silver roses, silver champagne glasses, silverware or silver jewelry.

  3. Step 3

Wrap non-silver gifts in silver-colored paper.

  4. Sentimental or Practical?

  5. Step 1

Buy your spouse or the couple something sentimental as a twenty-fifth anniversary gift. Some ideas are real flowers; sterling silver flowers; a photograph, painting or picture; a keepsake; a laminated poem; a scrapbook or a memory photo album.

  6. Step 2

Use the twenty-fifth anniversary as an excuse to buy the couple or your spouse something they’ve wanted for a long time, like a new home theater system or dishwasher.

  7. Step 3

Consider a gift certificate for the couple.

  8. Plan a Date, Getaway or Celebration

  9. Step 1

Plan a date night with each other instead of or in addition to a gift. This could be a night in or a night out. For immediate family, plan an anniversary date for the couple as a surprise, or give them a gift certificate they could use to plan their own date.

  10. Step 2

Plan a romantic weekend getaway as a couple or for the couple.

  11. Step 3

Go on a second honeymoon and renew your vows, just the two of you.

  12. Step 4

Plan a celebration night with family and friends of the couple. Renew your vows in front of everyone.

Tips & Warnings
  • Pitch in your money to buy the couple one larger gift together—a great idea for the couple’s children or the couple’s siblings.
  • Don’t spend more money than you can afford. If you are extended family or friends of the couple, expensive gifts are not expected.
