How to Play the How Boring Sex Game

Sometimes it’s difficult to communicate your needs and desires to your partner. This game can help spark discussion by making the whole situation just a little silly and thereby less threatening.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• Sense of humor
• 2 hard chairs

1. Sit across from each other fully clothed.
2. Take turns describing how boring sex is.
3. Remove one item of clothing for each statement of how bored you are with sex.
4. When you are naked, take turns touching, kissing or stroking your partner.
5. Respond to the touch verbally, but preface each statement with “How boring…” Your statement might sound something like this: “How boring—but I like the way your fingers feel right there. Keep doing it.” Or “How silly! I think my nipples are getting hard.”
6. Keep touching and talking until you are both aroused and ready to forget the game and play with each other.

Tips & Warnings

• The game depends on honest—not hurtful—communication. Remember to add a ‘'this feels good'’ or ‘'but this would feel good'’ to each statement.
• Try variations on communication. Decide that you can only ‘'talk dirty'’ or that you must use only clinical terms to add an interesting dimension and make you think about the words and ways you talk about sex with your partner.
