Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Costume
- Camera
- Accommodations
- Event schedule
- Map of Las Vegas
Step1
Choose a festival. The city hosts several gay-pride events throughout the year. The flagship event, Las Vegas Pride, is put on by the Southern Nevada Association of Pride, but it is by no means the only one.
Step2
Pack. Las Vegas is hot during the day and cool at night, but you'll probably spend most of your time in a climate-controlled environment anyway. Bring a costume or attire for the parades, sun screen and sunglasses for the days and your best club clothes for nights out on the town.
Step3
Travel to Sin City. Las Vegas is easily accessible. Discount airfares are available from just about every city in the United States, so finding cheap tickets shouldn't be a problem.
Step4
Get a room. This town was built for tourists, and offers just about any type of accommodations you can imagine. During a pride festival, gay-specific lodgings such as the Blue Moon Resort fill up quickly, so make reservations early.
Step5
Plan your activities. There's always something going on in Vegas, especially during a pride festival. Most events will have a schedule posted on their Web site, which can be found using any Internet search engine.
Step6
Check out the gay scene. During a festival, the clubs are sure to be hopping, especially those such as Krave located right on the strip.
