How to Have Sex in the Stargazer Position

The "stargazer" arranges the genitals for optimal stimulation. Here's how to do it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Choose a location. A bed is probably best, but any flat, soft surface will do--perhaps somewhere you can actually see the stars.
Step2
To begin, have the man lie down on his back with his legs straight but relaxed. His knees should be bent slightly and his legs spread in a "V" shape. This causes the genitals to protrude farther outward and flattens out the quad and groin muscles for easier access.
Step3
Get on top. The stargazer begins with the woman in the "on top" position, facing her partner with her legs straddling him. The woman can place her knees on the bed or squat down over the man with her feet flat.
Step4
Begin penetration. After getting comfortable, the woman should gently insert the penis. Rocking back and forth will increase lubrication.
Step5
See the stars. As each partner thrusts rhythmically, the woman should lean back slowly until her head rests on the bed and she's looking up at the sky (or ceiling). Both partners can continue thrusting simultaneously from the hips or take turns.

Tips & Warnings

  • Place a pillow where the woman's neck will end up when she is fully reclined.
  • The woman can get extra thrust by pushing on the bed with her hands placed behind her head.
  • The stargazer limits the visual stimulus of intercourse, but enhances the physical stimulus by causing both partners to focus on the genital area.
  • Use a condom to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
