Things You'll Need:
- Internet access
-
Step 1
Visit the Website for the Atlanta Pride Committee or the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) to find events in the city and join the advocacy community (see Resources below).
-
Step 2
Piedmont Park is the site for the festival with the parade starting at the MARTA Civic Center Station.
-
Step 3
Reserve accommodations. Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center is a Pride Festival sponsor and offers special packages to visitors. Delta Airlines is the official carrier for the celebration. Orbitz offers special travel deals. Other establishments participating in the festival include Residence Inn Midtown, The Granada and The Four Seasons Hotel.
-
Step 4
Follow the rules. During the festival, you may not rollerskate, skateboard, bike or ride scooters through Piedmont Park. The crowds are just too dense. You may not sell items or even disperse them free of charge without a permit. Rules restrict dogs (except seeing-eye dogs) to off-leash areas. Alcohol is sold on the grounds, but you must have ID. Glass bottles are not allowed within the park. You may not use grills or barbeques in the park during the festival.
