Baltimore, Maryland is a great place to experience live music in the summer. With tons of great festivals and events as well as venues, you’ll never find yourself at a loss for something to do.
Find out what’s going on when you are there. Log on to the Baltimore Office of Promotion of the Arts Web site or visit the Baltimore City Paper Web site and click the music link. Baltimore City has a Web site with a section dedicated to the Arts. Check it out.

Come down to the annual Inner Harbor Easter Celebration at the Inner Harbor Amphitheatre every Easter Sunday. Show up at 11 a.m. when the festivities begin and stay until 8 p.m.

Attend one of the many ethnic festivals. Catch the Polish festival, or the Caribbean Carnival festival or the PowWow Native American Festival. Consult the list at the Baltimore Office of Promotion of Arts to see what else is happening.

Attend a free concert at the waterfront. From Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day weekend you can come down to the Harborplace Amphitheater to enjoy some jazz, pop, rock, progressive and military bands. Learn more at the Harborplace Amphitheater Web site.

If the weather is fine and the performers are good, why not show up early and get a good seat? Bring your picnic and your friends and enjoy a concert in Baltimore.
Tips & Warnings
You can usually bring a picnic lunch with snacks and beverages, but sometimes coolers and alcohol are restricted.

Some events have concessions and seating, but of course you can always bring your own! A nice picnic blanket or your favorite beach chair make for great VIP seating.
If the weather is bad, call the venue to make sure there aren’t any cancellations.
You may have prohibited items confiscated. Double-check with the venue before bringing alcohol or video or audio recorders.
