People don't often think about going to the beach in a land-locked state, but, surprisingly, Utah has a number of quiet beaches. Here are a few to look for.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
In Vernal, Utah you'll find Steinaker State Park. Steinaker offers camping, hiking, biking and swimming at quiet sandy beaches.
Step2
Antimony, Utah is home to Piute State Park. While Piute is a common place for fishing, it also offers a quiet place to swim and get away from it all.
Step3
Yuba State Park in Levan offers a number of sandy beaches, many of which are perfect for a quiet afternoon.
Step4
Jordanelle State Park in Heber City offers two separate recreation areas. Of them, Rock Cliff is your destination if you are looking for a quiet place to unwind.
Step5
Midway, Utah's Deer Creek State Park, is home to a reservoir that is popular for boating, swimming, sunbathing and even wind surfing; It can also be a great place to spend some time relaxing.

Tips & Warnings

  • Most recreational beach areas are less populated in the mornings and early evenings than they are during the peak of the day.
  • Consider camping at some of the state parks where it is allowed for a chance to get away from it all for a little while longer.
  • There are day use fees associated with all Utah State Parks.
