Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
The Key West National Wildlife Refuge is only accessible by boat. While the islands are mainly made up of mangroves, the few sandy beaches are extremely quiet.
Step2
Little Duck Key Park is found just past the seven mile bridge and is also the Veterans' Memorial Park. While there is not a lot of beach space, it is a nice quiet beach for taking a break from your drive.
Step3
If you are looking for a quiet beach in the Keys that will also give you access to nature both on land and at sea, consider a trip to the beaches at Fort Zachary Taylor Historical State Park. Not only will you be able to take walks along nature trails and snorkel, but you'll also be able to learn more about American Civil War history.
Step4
Looking to find a quiet island escape? Consider making a trip to Bahia Honda State Park. Whether you're looking for a shallow beach for wading or a beach with deep waters for snorkeling, you'll be able to find it here.
Step5
If you are not planning a trip deep into the Keys, consider a trip to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo. Head to Far Beach where you will be able to find a quiet space to yourself to relax under the palm trees.
