How to Find a Nude Beach in New York

If you are looking for a nude beach in New York, your best bet is to seek out those beaches that are associated with nudist parks and resorts. Here is where you can go to find them.

1. If you are in upstate New York, consider going to Point a Roche. This area has a beach that is on the shore of Lake Champlain and is available for day use. Just follow Route 9 from Plattsburgh.

2. There is a section of Rockaway Beach in Queens, New York were nudists frequent. Follow the boardwalk to reach it.

3. Visit Fire Island. You'll find nude sunbathing at Cherry Grove. Take a ferry or water taxi to reach the beach.

Tips & Warnings

• You may be able to find secluded swimming holes throughout the state where nude sunbathing and swimming are possible.
• Cherry Grove at Fire Island is located amidst a gay community. If the gay lifestyle makes you uncomfortable, you may want to find an alternative nude beach area.

on 6/18/2009 There is Lighthouse Beach at Robert Moses State Park on LI. The others mentioned are not legal, and you will get arrested or at least ticketed.

Stephs Pond is available to nudists generally.
