How to Play the Drinking Game Screw Your Neighbor

Contrary to how this may sound, this drinking game has little to do with clandestine trysts with the lonely housewife (or househusband) next door. But if you want to invite one of your neighbors over for a couple hands of cards and a couple shots, maybe they’ll be more open to persuasion. Play the drinking game Screw Your Neighbor with them and whoever has the lowest card drinks!

Things You’ll Need:

• Drinks
• Deck of cards

Play the Drinking Game Screw Your Neighbor

1. Get together with four or more friends and some alcohol.
2. Deal out one card to each person. Place it face down in front of them.
3. Each player looks at his card. If it is a King, he must flip it over and place it in front of himself.
4. Begin the round. The player left of the dealer starts. The turns rotate around the table clockwise.
5. Trade or keep your card. You have the option to keep your card or trade with the person sitting to your left. Do so if you think they have a card that is higher than yours.
6. Continue play. Each person plays, deciding whether or not to switch until it is the dealer’s turn (he plays last).
7. Keep your card or draw from the deck. The dealer has no one to trade with, so he can either keep his card or draw a card from the deck to play.
8. Show your cards. After the dealer takes his turn, everyone places their cards face up on the table.
9. If you have the lowest card, you’ve been screwed and must take a drink.
10. Shuffle the deck and play again!

Tips & Warnings

• If you have the king you are safe. You cannot trade it away and no one can trade you for it.
• Contain your joy or mask your dismay when you get a new card. Keep the other players guessing about what you have.
• Don’t drink and drive. End the game before it’s time to go home or switch to water near the end of the night.
• Take a walk every now and then. It’s hard to feel how drunk you are when you are sitting.
