1
Decide which campground you would like. If you are interested in camping near the giant sequoia groves, choose either Lodgepole, Dorst, Grant Grove or Atwell Mill. These campgrounds are higher in elevation and cooler than the others.
-
2
You may make reservations for individual campsites at some of the campgrounds. In Sequoia National Park, you can make reservations for Lodgepole or Dorst Campground five months before your scheduled trip. You will need to go through Biospherics, Inc. to make those reservations. All other campgrounds are on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
-
3
If you are traveling with a group during the summer, your choices include Dorst, Sunset and Canyon View. You must make reservations by mail.
-
4
If you are interested in camping in the off-season, you only have three choices of campgrounds. Lodgepole, Azalea, and Buckeye Flat are the only campgrounds open all year.
-
5
From the middle of June through the middle of September, you can camp here for up to 14 days. You may camp a total of 30 days per year.
-
6
All of the campgrounds are equipped with flush or pit toilets, tables, garbage containers, fire grills and drinking water (except South Fork).
-
7
Most of the campgrounds are equipped with bear-proof storage for your food. You will be required to use these containers.
-
8
You may have one vehicle and up to six people in one campsite. If you have more than one vehicle, there is parking nearby.
-

The Sequoia Shuttle is starting up again with its second season. It was such a big hit last year and especially with gas prices sky rocketing, there's no excuse not to use it! There is ample space to store things and bike racks. The bus also departs from the City of Visalia and drives to the entrance of the park. For $15 round-trip, now that's a steal!
