Unfortunately for same-sex couples, many states still don’t recognize their right to marry. Interested in being an advocate for same-sex marriage in Arizona? There are lots of things you can do to raise public awareness on this issue.

  • Computer with internet access
  • Badges, T-shirts or bumper stickers
  1. Step 1

    Talk to friends, family and co-workers about same-sex marriage. Discuss reasons why it’s important that everyone has the right to an officially recognized relationship regardless of sexual orientation.

  2. Step 2

    Write letters to your local newspapers or other publications stating your views.

  3. Step 3

    Get a badge, button or bumper sticker and wear it with pride!

  4. Step 4

    Create an email signature that links to a Web site such as Gay Marriage News or the Arizona Human Rights Fund.

  5. Step 5

    Find out about advocate groups in your area and join one. Take part in activities that raise public awareness about same-sex marriage issues.
