Don't save romance for Valentine's Day. Plan a special dinner at home for your husband and let him know how much you care. It does not have to be elaborate, and the rewards will leave him feeling appreciated.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Plan a menu. Nothing fancy is required. Just think about what your husband would enjoy and go from there. It could be as simple as burgers and beer if that's what he likes.

  2. Step 2

Plan the setting. Consider dining in a room you don't normally eat in, such as the bedroom. Or, lay a blanket out on the living room floor and have an indoor picnic.

  3. Step 3

Get prepared. Write down on a list all of the things you will need such as food, music and what you'll be wearing. Make this list well in advance so you'll have time to pull it all together.

  4. Step 4

Set it all up while he is away. If you can do it while he is at work, it will be a great surprise. If you can't, enlist a friend to invite him out or come up with some other excuse for getting him out of the house while you make preparations.

  5. Step 5

Spring it on him. Even if he knows you are planning a romantic dinner, do not give him all the details. There is something alluring about what is unknown, and any surprises you can throw his way will make it even more special.
