Caps is a game of skill, but most participants will find their skill decreasing as the game progresses. That’s because it’s a drinking game. College parties are a great place to find people who want to play the drinking game Caps.

From Quick Guide: Play Drinking Games
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two cups
  • Four players
  • Beer (preferably in bottles)
  • Beer caps
  1. Step 1

Divide the group into two teams. There should be two people on each team.

  2. Step 2

Sit each team about 10 or so feet away from each other. Each person should face someone from the other team.

  3. Step 3

Place a half-full glass of beer in front of each person.

  4. Step 4

Take turns trying to throw bottle caps into the other person’s cup. If you make it in, the other person drinks and you get a point.

  5. Step 5

Return a throw. If someone makes a shot into your cup, you have the chance to return it. If you successfully return the shot, they have to drink and you get a point. But they also have a chance to return!

  6. Step 6

Tally up the points. When one team reaches a pre-determined score, they win and teams are rearranged.

Tips & Warnings
  • Record your score by placing caps in front of you after you get a point.
  • Turns rotate back and forth between the players sitting across from each other on opposite teams.
  • For specific campus rules, see the Caps (drinking game) Wikipedia article.
  • Some campuses have strict rules on distance, cups and caps that can be used.
  • Careful not to drink the cap!
  • If you're going to get smashed, walk home or stay on the couch.
