It is not a good feeling to see your boyfriend or girlfriend sick or in the hospital. You will want to bring something that lets your significant other know that you care. Here is how to buy a get-well gift for your boyfriend or girlfriend.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Think seriously about what your boyfriend or girlfriend likes. One rookie mistake people make is buying a gift they think is great but that their significant other is not interested in.

  2. Step 2

Get something the two of you can share. If you play Scrabble a lot together, buy a nice set. If you enjoy movies, buy a box set of a series you know you'll enjoy watching together.

  3. Step 3

Consider your boyfriend or girlfriend's sense of humor and the seriousness of the illness. There is a time and place for comedy, and if your sweetie is feeling weak or vulnerable, this may not be it.

  4. Step 4

Decide whether you want to make it public or private. Is this a gift you want to give in front of others? If not, plan the delivery discreetly.

  5. Step 5

Make your gift a promise. One clever way to make your boyfriend or girlfriend think about the good times to come is a gift for when he or she gets better. Concert tickets for a while down the road or a gift certificate to a nice restaurant are good bets.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add as many personal touches as you can.
  • Write something heartfelt in a card. Add an inside joke when you can.
  • Do not bring attention to your boyfriend or girlfriend’s illness. The focus should be on getting well.
