Step 1
Start early. Give yourself plenty of time to select a birthday gift that is just right for your boyfriend or girlfriend. When you are shopping online, allow for shipping time.
-
Step 2
Set a reasonable budget. Yes, you can splurge a little bit, but most of the time the sky is not the limit when buying a boyfriend or girlfriend a gift for their birthday.
-
Step 3
Consider your boyfriend’s or girlfriend’s personality and tastes before you begin shopping. Combine your knowledge of what they like with the limits of your budget to guide your selection of stores to shop.
-
Step 4
Browse the shelves. Select two or three items at each store that could be a perfect birthday gift for your boyfriend or girlfriend and fit within your budget.
-
Step 5
Make a list of the gifts that you are considering. Note the price and the place where you found the gift.
-
Step 6
Choose the best gift. Sometimes this can be the most frustrating part of buying a birthday present, so use the process of elimination.
-
Step 7
Make the purchase and have the gift wrapped.

on 8/15/2007 This advice, OMG...
Make sure you won't get the same present to the person you got her last year, for Xmas, for any other occasion, stop buying socks and cards for UR husband and card and flower (unless u never buy flowers) to your Woman.
You have to make it as a surprise. You have to make the Person Happy, not you.
You are gifting someone else, not yourself, don't buy something just because You like it, the person has to like it.
Present should be Unique, that you wouldn't get "just because it's Wednesday"

on 7/28/2007 Many of us don’t want another vase or picture frame. So why not a gift to change the world?
A new nonprofit website, http://www.ChangingThePresent.org lets you choose exactly what you want to accomplish: preserve an acre of the rainforest, provide books for children, fund an hour of cancer research, etc. There are thousands of donation opportunities from hundreds of leading nonprofits. You’re sure to find something that moves you.
Wish lists and registries let us share our passions with others and ensure the perfect gift. Beautiful, personalized greeting cards include a photo and description of the gift you gave.
ChangingThePresent.org is the website of a 501c3 nonprofit, so all of your money, less only a transaction fee of 3% and 30 cents to cover the credit card fee, goes to the nonprofit you choose to support.
