If you’re looking for some musical entertainment during your lunch hour, several locations offer mini-concerts during the afternoons of the work week. Here are some steps to enjoy a concert during your lunch hour.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Local newspaper
Step1
Check your local newspaper or city Web site to find venues holding concerts and when they begin. If you have Citysearch for your area, start there. You can also check at your local music store, particularly the big chains like Virgin.
Step2
Select a particular concert or performance that you want to see and that fits into your lunch schedule.
Step3
Clear it with your boss, or inform your client and/or administrative assistant ahead of time to let them know you will be out of contact during your lunch hour.
Step4
Work ahead through your morning schedule so you won’t have anything lingering over your head when you leave. Complete as much work as you can so you aren’t far behind on the day.
Step5
Leave work for the concert as early as you can and get a seat close to the exit of the club or where you parked your car. This will save you some time at the end of the hour when you leave.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the concert is held outdoors, check the weather ahead of time in your local newspaper or TV station Web site.
  • Keep your cell phone or pager on in case of a work-related emergency.
  • Do not come back to work intoxicated.
  • Keep an eye on your watch to make sure you don't return to work late.
