How to Remove a Ceiling Fan

A ceiling fan with a light can bring a level of comfort to a room without sacrificing your lighting. One of the first steps is to remove the old fan.

• Ladder
• Power screwdriver

1. Turn off the power to the area in which you are working.

2. Remove the cap from the existing fan, and detach the mounting base from the workbox. Use a power screwdriver for this task.
