How to Make Oscar Invitations
In 1929, 270 guests paid $5.00 each to attend the 1st Academy Awards where the very first Best Actor, Emil Jannings, received the first Oscar. As of 2011, 2,701 recipients have proudly displayed a golden statuette. The Oscars have become a celebration of the best of the best in Hollywood. Things You'll Need
- Oscar statuette image
- Scissors
- Gold card stock
- Black marker
- Envelope
- Round cookie cutter
- Black card stock
- White paint pen
- Red carpet image
- Stamp
- 3-by-5-inch plain label sticker
- Microwave popcorn

Statuette

Print a 6-inch tall image of the Oscar statuette from the Internet. The actual Oscar is 13 1/2 inches tall, but finding an envelope this size is difficult.

Cut the printed image out, following the natural lines of the image to create a template.

Place the cut out image on a piece of 4-by-6-inch gold card stock. Trace around template to transfer the Oscar shape onto the card stock.

Cut out the traced image. Use a black marker to color the Oscar base black. Turn the cut out over and write the party information on the back.

Place the completed invitation in an envelope and mail it.
Film Reel

Use a round cookie cutter or the bottom of tin can to draw a 5-inch circle on a piece of black card stock. Cut out the circle.

Draw five 3/4-inch triangles on the circle to create the five spokes on a film reel. Use a white paint pen to draw on the black paper. Space the triangles 1/4 inch apart to form a pie slice look.

Turn the circle over and write the party invitation on the back. Mail the invitations in an envelope.
Red Carpet

Print an image of a red carpet from a free photo-sharing site .

Turn the photograph over and write the party details on the left side. On the right side, write the recipient's mailing information.

Add a stamp to the back of the photograph and mail it like a postcard.
Popcorn

Write the party invitation on a 3-by-5-inch plain label sticker.

Place the label sticker on an individually wrapped package of microwave popcorn.

Hand deliver the popcorn to the guests.
