      Make sure that you have the correct kind of bulb for your fixture.

      Use the wall switch to turn the power to the fixture off.

      Unscrew the existing bulb by turning it counterclockwise.

      Screw in the new bulb by turning it clockwise.

      Check your work by flipping on the switch.

      Throw away the dead bulb.

  • If the bulb is broken, cut a potato in half and jam it up onto the broken glass. Use the potato like a handle to remove the broken bulb.
