How to Defeat the Special Forces Troops in Dead Rising

Depending on how many cases you completed, you may have some visitors to the mall on the evening of the third day. Led by a crazy commander with lots of scars, the Special Forces start cutting down zombies left and right. Be careful! If they see you, they've got orders to capture you. They may be tough, but they're not invincible. Fight them!

Instructions

1. Hack the Special Forces with mini chainsaws. Nothing takes down a Special Force member faster. First, you must defeat Adam the Clown and properly utilize the mini chainsaws. These are your greatest defense against Special Forces.

2. Grab a machine gun from a Special Force member and turn it on them. These guns are formidable. The only gun more powerful is the heavy machine gun found on the back of the convict's jeep. You probably won't have a heavy machine gun by the time you encounter the Special Forces.

3. Run circles around the Special Forces until they reload, then slash them with melee weapons. This works best when there are two or fewer Special Force members in a group. Any melee weapon will work. The katana and mini chainsaw are best, but the battle-axe and hunting knife will work as well.

4. Try the hot frying pan. It works!

5. Keep an eye out for the small helicopter drones. If you see them, shoot them. A single pistol shot will bring them down, but if they see you, they'll alert the Special Forces of your presence.

6. With the sniper rifle, shoot the chests of Special Forces. Shooting them in the head is ineffective because they wear helmets.

7. Find a toy store and purchase a toy laser sword. Don't use it as a weapon. When the lights go out at night, use the toy laser sword to illuminate the area, making Special Forces easier to spot.

Tips & Warnings

• Don't bother using shotguns on Special Forces. It takes four shells to bring them down. In the time it takes to get off four shells, they can shoot you many times. The pistol is equally useless.
