How to Defeat the Corpser in Gears of War

Defeating the corpser is difficult at any difficulty level. Not only must you deal with a giant spiderlike locust, but you must do so while standing on an ever-shrinking stone platform suspended over a lake of emulsion. Tough being a gear, isn’t it?

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

1. Grab a sniper rifle or torque bow. You’ll need at least one of them.
2. Shoot the corpser in the abdomen. It will writhe in pain. You could stab the corpser with your lancer, but the sniper rifle or torque bow will save ammunition and be more accurate.
3. Blast the corpser in the face when it is writhing. This will push it back.
4. Move forward. The platform you are on is dissolving behind you!
5. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the corpser backs up onto a metal platform.
6. Look down at the platform the corpser is on. There will be a pair of large circular clamps on the floor, one on each side nearest to you.
7. Shoot the clamps to send the corpser into an emulsion bath.
8. Celebrate. The corpser is dead...at least, you think so. You may see an illuminated corpser in Gears of War 2.
